Very large fleets can ask us about volume pricing. Freight itself is between the shipper and the carrier: OBRA doesn't take a cut.
Common questions
Do carriers or drivers pay anything?
No. Carriers and drivers never pay OBRA. The fee is paid by whoever books the load.
How does the carrier get paid for the freight?
The shipper pays the carrier directly, as they do today. OBRA doesn't collect or hold freight money. It keeps the invoice and the delivery record for both sides.
When am I billed?
Nothing for the first 90 days. After that, OBRA bills its fee for each load you booked, by invoice or a card on file. Posting a load and getting quotes never costs anything.
Can I keep using the carriers I already use?
Yes. Invite them and send them your loads first, in the order you choose, at a saved rate if you have one. OBRA checks their insurance and warns you before it lapses.
Can other companies see my loads, rates or customers?
No. Other shippers, including your competitors, never see your loads, rates, customers or shipments. Carriers see a load only when you offer it to them or post it to everyone qualified.
What does my customer see?
A tracking link with the delivery's stage, the arrival time, the truck's position when the driver shares it, and the delivery photos. They never see the carrier or the price.
What do drivers see? Do they see the rate?
Drivers see what they need for the job. A company's drivers see the rate only if the company allows it. Owner-operators on their own account see all their rates.
What counts as my own truck?
A truck your company owns or leases, driven by your own employees, at the $2.00 fleet rate. A hired trucking company is an outside carrier at $4.00: invite it as a carrier and its insurance gets checked.
Do drivers need to download an app?
No app store is needed. OBRA installs from the phone's browser in a few taps, and works in English or Spanish. Delivery photos taken with no signal are saved and sent when the signal returns, as long as the app stays open.
Do you send text messages?
Alerts go by email today. Text alerts are coming, and only go to people who agree to them.
