OBRA

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Obra Technologies, Inc. ("OBRA", "we") collects when you use OBRA at viaobra.com, its phone app, tracking links, emails and text messages; how we use and share it; and the choices you have. OBRA is a business service for building-material deliveries in the United States.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), role, language and company.
  • Company details: company name, yard or office address and phone, hours, MC and DOT numbers, equipment, insurance details and certificates, and the people on your team.
  • Loads: pickup and delivery addresses, lot and block, job names, order numbers, materials, weights, delivery windows, quotes, prices, invoices, and the history of every change.
  • Customer contacts: the name, phone and email of a job-site contact that a shipper enters so the customer can follow the delivery.
  • Location: when a driver turns on location for a load, the truck's latest position while the app is open, until delivery or until the driver turns it off; and where the driver's phone is when the driver changes a load's stage or takes a delivery photo. We don't track location in the background or outside a load.
  • Delivery records: photos stamped with the load number, time and location; signatures and the name of who signed, or the reason no one did; and documents such as bills of lading and pick tickets. A photo's hidden details also record the carrier and driver.
  • Message records: the emails and texts we send and to whom, whether a number agreed to texts or replied STOP, and when you agreed to our terms.
  • Payment details: for carriers, the payee name, remittance email, payment method and the last four digits of an account, never the full number. Card details for our fees are entered with our payment processor and aren't stored by us.
  • Technical details: IP address, browser and device type, sign-in sessions and server logs, used to keep accounts secure and the Service working.
  • What you send us: emails and support requests.

2. How we use it

  • to run OBRA: posting, quoting, booking, dispatching, routing, tracking and recording loads;
  • to send emails and texts about your loads and your account;
  • to show customers their delivery through the tracking link;
  • to check carriers' insurance and remind them before it expires;
  • to bill our fees;
  • to keep OBRA secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems;
  • to improve OBRA, using information combined across accounts where we can;
  • to meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

3. Who sees it

  • People on a load: the shipper's team, the carrier and its driver see what they need to run it, including names and phone numbers. Customers see their delivery's stage, arrival time, the truck's position when it is shared, and the delivery photos, never the carrier or the price.
  • Carriers quoting: when a shipper offers a load to carriers or posts it to the open board, those carriers see the details they need to quote on it.
  • No one else: other shippers on OBRA, including competitors, never see your loads, rates, customers or shipments.
  • Service providers that run parts of the Service for us, only to provide it: hosting and database (Vercel, Neon), file storage and email routing (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), text messages (Twilio), maps, addresses and truck routing (Mapbox, which receives addresses and positions, not names), and, once card payments start, our payment processor.
  • The law: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of people, OBRA or the public.
  • A change of ownership: if Obra Technologies, Inc. merges, is acquired or sells its business, information may pass to the new owner under this policy.

4. Text messages

We text only people who agreed: by ticking the texts box beside their mobile number, by turning texts on in OBRA, or, for drivers, teammates and customers, when their company or the shipper confirms they agreed. We keep a record of each agreement: when it was given, where, and by whom.

Texts are about loads only: offers, bookings, changes, arrival updates and deliveries. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help, or email support@viaobra.com. The Terms of Service set out the full text-message terms.

We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers are shared only with the provider that delivers our texts (Twilio), and only to deliver them. Text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

5. If a shipper sent you a tracking link or a text

A shipper using OBRA entered your contact details so you could follow your delivery. The shipper decides that; ask them, or email support@viaobra.com, if you'd rather not be contacted. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.

6. Cookies

OBRA uses only the cookies it needs: one that keeps you signed in and one that remembers your language. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use analytics tools; if we add any, we'll update this policy first. Map tiles load from our map provider, which sees your IP address as any website would.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and company details: while the account is open.
  • Load, delivery and billing records, including photos, signatures and documents: at least seven years after delivery, because shippers, carriers and tax authorities may need them.
  • A truck's live position: replaced as the truck moves, and cleared when the load is delivered or the driver stops sharing.
  • Consent records: as long as we might need to show that someone agreed.
  • Server logs: a short time, for security.

When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except what we must keep for those records, the law or a dispute.

8. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, one-way hashed passwords, access checks on every request so each company sees only its own data, and short-lived links for photos and documents. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

9. Your choices

  • See or correct your information: most of it is in your account. For anything else, email support@viaobra.com.
  • Delete your account: email support@viaobra.com from your account's address. We'll confirm, then delete it as described above.
  • Texts: turn them off on the Texts page, or reply STOP.
  • Location: drivers choose whether to share location on each load and can turn it off at any time. Delivery photos still record where they were taken.

We answer requests within 30 days, and we won't treat you differently for making one.

10. Children

OBRA is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

11. Where it is kept

OBRA serves the United States. Information is stored and processed in the United States by us and our service providers.

12. Changes to this policy

We'll post any update here with its date. For important changes we'll tell you in OBRA or by email, and ask you to agree again before you continue.
